What the Positions Tab Shows

The Positions tab in the Overview dashboard gives you a high-level view of trading activity and performance for the selected date range. It focuses on:

  • How many positions were opened and how profitable they were overall.

  • Which symbols generate the most trades, profit, and loss.

  • When during the day, traders are most active.

  • When during the day, the firm tends to make or lose money.

Top-Level Trading KPIs

The top row of cards summarizes trading outcomes for the period.

KPI

Description

Total Positions

Total number of closed positions/trades in the selected date range. This is your overall trading volume for the period.

Total Profit

Aggregate realized profit from all positions that closed with a gain during the period. Shows how much traders collectively made on winning trades.

Total Loss

Aggregate realized loss from positions that closed in a loss during the period. Shows how much was lost across all losing trades.

Avg. Profit

The average profit per winning trade. Helps you understand how large a typical winning trade is.

Avg. Loss

The average loss per losing trade. Useful for checking whether losses are being cut faster than profits.

Avg. Positions per Account

Average number of positions opened per trading account in the period. Indicates how active your average trader is.

These KPIs together answer: How much are people trading, and are wins generally bigger or smaller than losses?

Symbol Stats

The Symbol Stats table ranks instruments by trading activity and performance. Typical columns include:

Column

Description

Rank

Position in the ranking, ordered by activity or impact (e.g. most trades or highest volume).

Symbol

The trading symbol (e.g. major FX pairs, indices, crypto, etc.).

Total Trades

Number of closed trades on that symbol during the selected date range.

Total Profit

Sum of profits from winning trades on that symbol.

Total Loss

Sum of losses from losing trades on that symbol.

Avg Profit

Average profit per winning trade on that symbol.

Avg Loss

Average loss per losing trade on that symbol.

Loss to Profit Ratio

A ratio comparing typical loss size to typical profit size for that symbol. Values above 1 indicate average losses are larger than average profits; values below 1 indicate the opposite.

This table helps you identify:

  • Which instruments are most heavily traded.

  • Which symbols are driving most profits or losses.

  • Where traders tend to have good vs poor risk/reward.

Trade Distribution by Hour

The Trade Distribution by Hour table shows when trades happen throughout the day.

Column

Description

Time

Hourly time buckets (e.g. 00:00–01:00, 01:00–02:00, etc.) in the platform's reference timezone.

Total Trades

Number of trades closed in that hour across all accounts and symbols in the selected period.

Use this to:

  • See which hours are most active for your traders.

  • Align support and risk monitoring with peak trading times.

  • Understand how activity lines up with market sessions and news events.

Performance Distribution by Hour

The Performance Distribution by Hour table adds a profitability lens to the time-of-day view.

Column

Description

Time

The same hourly buckets as in Trade Distribution by Hour.

Profit

Net realized profit or loss generated in that hour across all trades (wins minus losses).

This reveals:

  • Which hours tend to be net profitable vs net losing for your firm's traders.

  • Whether high-activity hours are also high-quality (profitable) or just volatile.

Quick Summary

The Overview β†’ Positions tab shows your total trading volume, profits and losses, symbol-level rankings, and how both trade activity and performance are distributed by hour of the day for the selected date range.
